“Saxophonist/ flautist Gaby Schenke, German jazz musician, is
known for her groove and compositional talent.
Born into a musical family, graduated from the « Hochschule für Musik und
Theater Hanover/ Germany (saxophone teacher for jazz, rock & pop), winner
of the "Winning Jazz" competition as
soloist and with her group Gaby Schenke Quartett, she lived as a
working musician in Germany, the Netherlands and lives since more than 10
years in France. She released 4 cds under her name. In 2009 tour with the
group “Firecats” as support for Chancellor Angela Merkel. Gaby
worked with dancers, writers, puppet players and painters. She has played and
recorded among others with Sebastian Schunke, Thilo Wolf Big Band,
Hommage To Art Pepper + 11, Grenoble Modern Orchestra, Miguel Anga Diáz,
Emil Spanyi, Enfance & Musique, childrens choir of Opernhaus Hannover,
Theaterwerkstatt Hannover, DJ Lewis, DJ Goodka, Bill
Ramsey, Benoît Thévenot, Anne Mahey, Curtis Clark, Gil Lachenal, Andy
Barron, Malcolm Potter, Roger Cicero, Gaby Schenke European Trio, Gaby
Schenke’s 2nd Edit, Gaby Schenke Quartett, … in many festivals et
clubs, musées et théâtres en Europe, Etats-Unis et l’Afrique du Nord. »
