Lindy Huppertsberg
Germany FrankenthalLindy Huppertsberg was nick-named "Lady Bass" by her teacher and idol Ray Brown. In 2001 she became an honorable citizen of the city of New Orleans. Beside playing with the well known "Barrelhouse Jazzband" she lead - as one of the first Jazz bassists in Europe in the 1980ies- several all-women-bands, i.e. "The Swinging Ladies" or "WitchCraft". She recorded Classic Jazz, Swing, Bebop, Gospel with many famous US-artists. In 2022 she created an evening of infotainment focussed on her experiences being a pioneer woman in Jazz. The new program is called "Lined With A Groove".
