Stephanie Pierre MYSTÉFY
Canada OttawaThis German born Canadian resident writes her own jazzy tunes. 2008 saw her highly acclaimed CD 'Spark Within', and in 2010 Mystéfy released 'Me'. With her background of roaming clubs and performing ad-hoc at jazz sessions, she gained experience and positive response to her 3-octave range vocal skills.
Songs from Mystéfy's debut "Spark Within" appeared on ABC TV 'Ugly Betty', and compilations worldwide such as "Bar Lounge Classics" (Sony), "Cool Tributes Vol.2" (Wagram) and "The Trendy Eastern - Hong Kong 2" (High Note) or "Café de Paris".
Sensitivity and Sensuality: Mystéfy's voice is charming, elegant and full of soul (Süddeutsche Zeitung, GER).
The songwriter Mystéfy sings about the love of life – in a relaxed manner and without kitsch. Soft, self-penned jazz songs that are touching".

No matter the style, Mystéfy delivers convincingly good, heartfelt interpretations.

There's something about the way she sings that makes you want to hear more, which is rare for me as someone who comes across an insane amount of crappy jazz vocal albums. This isn't one of them. A fine addition to anyone's jazz collection.
(Book's Music, USA about "Me")
Gentle, sensual and full of soul - like a balmy breeze on your favorite lake.

Spark Within is a nice record; it's a perfectly relaxed, orchestrated, and sung. Like the best Sergio Mendes record meeting Ella, this is a pleasant record that mixes lush arrangements with sensual vocals. Mystefy's deep voice is stirring and is a made up of equal parts of charm and musicianship and that's what makes Spark Within entertaining.
