Federica Michisanti, bassist and double bassist, studied in Rome at the University of Music and Saint Louis College of Music and at Siena Jazz and Città di castello seminars . She studied classical music with Maestro Andrea Pighi.

She won Top jazz 2018 in the new Italian talent category and her record SILENT RIDES ranked seventh among the best Italian records of 2018. She was already voted second in the same category in 2017. Top Jazz is the annual referendum held by Musica Jazz magazine.

In 2019 she won the Siae special award for originality of compositional research, following which she played with her trio with guest Louis Sclavis.

She won Top Jazz 2020 with her Horn trio, considered the best Italian group of the year, as well as placing fifth among the best Italian artists of the same year.

She has recorded four records under her own name with the Trioness and Horn trio projects, the latest of which was produced by Parco della Musica Records. With her two trios she has been a guest on the Radio Rai 3 programs I concerti del Quirinale, La Stanza della Musica, Battiti and Piazza Verdi and has also participated in prestigious festivals both Italian and international.

She played on the 2021 European tour in the quartet of Dave Douglas and Franco D'Andrea, with Dan Weiss on drums.

She has played with Louis Sclavis, who will be part of his new quartet along with Michele Rabbia and Vincent Curtois.

She collaborated with Bob Moses and Greg Burk on their project "Benign madness, profound gladness," a record released in 2019.

In spring 2022 he received a commission from Palazzo Te in Mantua and the 4' 33'' Association to write music for a string quartet. The name of the project is LIFE ON ART string quartet, which includes Eloisa Manera, Maria Vicentini, and Salvatore Maiore.

She is part of the 2022 edition of the ONJGT Orchestra conducted by Paolo Damiani.

She collaborates in her current projects with Nicolas Masson, Salvatore Maiore and Emanuele Maniscalco.

In April 2016 she participated in the recording of the album Homage to Janis Joplin - Jazz Corner, Jazz Italiano live at the Casa del Jazz in which a piece co-written by her is also included.
