Marie Kühn’s musical personality moves between Berlin, Germany, and São Paulo, Brazil, a microphone and a record collection. During her studies in Brazil, she followed her enthusiasm for the history(s) of bossa nova and samba as a singer and DJ. Back in Berlin she focusses on her Bossa Jazz projects Silva Neon (with Jacob Müller, guitar) and Azulão Duo (with Thibault Falk, piano) and collaborations with Brazilian Berliners like the pianist Maurício Fleury (Bixiga 70), the percussionist Amoy Ribas, the saxophonist Paulo Cedraz (Bantunagojêje) and the singer-songwriter Adriano Trindade. Whether singing in Portuguese, English, French or German – her interpretations range from velvety to soulful.
